MEDICA and COMPAMED 2020 now virtual: The most important questions and answers
MEDICA 2020 and COMPAMED 2020, as the world's leading information and communication platforms for the medical technology sector and the suppliers of the medical technology industry, will take place completely in virtual format from 16 - 19 November. Within the framework of 'virtual.MEDICA' and 'virtual.COMPAMED', decision-makers from all areas of the healthcare industry can then expect a comprehensive offering at https://virtual.medica.de and https://virtual.compamed.de consisting of three central areas: 'Conference Area' (conference and forum program), 'Exhibition Space' (exhibitors and product innovations) and 'Networking Plaza' (networking / matchmaking). The follow-up events MEDICA 2021 and COMPAMED 2021 will be held next year in a hybrid concept consisting of a combination of live platforms for trade visitors at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Center plus digital offerings.
Here you will find an overview of the most important questions and answers:
Why don't the trade fairs take place in physical form?
The brand core of MEDICA and also of COMPAMED is the intercontinental appeal for exhibitors and visitors. This central core cannot be realized in the form of a presence event this year due to the pandemic. However, with our comprehensive virtual marketplace and high-caliber program items, we are now creating a situationally appropriate starting point for a joint launch in 2021, when MEDICA 2021 and COMPAMED 2021 will be held in a hybrid concept consisting of a combination of live platforms for trade visitors at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Center plus digital offerings.
Why aren't the physical trade fairs being postponed to another date?
MEDICA and COMPAMED traditionally take place at the end of November. This date is based on the industry calendar and has been learned from all participants. Since we want to stick to this date in the interests of our exhibitors and visitors, this year MEDICA and COMPAMED will take place virtually from 16 to 19 November and next year in a hybrid version consisting of a combination of live platforms for trade visitors at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Center and digital offerings.
Will the exhibitors receive their payments already made back to Messe Düsseldorf? / Can the payments already made be credited or transferred to the next physical event?
Messe Düsseldorf will reimburse all payments already made by exhibitors. If in individual cases there is a desire to credit payments made to the next physical event, Messe Düsseldorf will discuss this with the respective Exhibitors.
Do you reimburse your customers for costs incurred to date for booked flight and train tickets, hotel accommodation, etc.?
We understand the difficult situation that this creates. Please contact the respective provider to clarify open questions and find solutions. We cannot provide any information on contracts of customers with third party providers, as these have not been entered into with Messe Düsseldorf. However, Messe Düsseldorf and the City of Düsseldorf and its subsidiary Düsseldorf Tourismus are in constant contact with the hotel industry in Düsseldorf and the surrounding region and its umbrella organization DEHOGA (German Hotel and Restaurant Association).
What about stand constructions/deliveries etc. that have already been commissioned?
We understand the difficult situation resulting from the purely virtual execution. Please contact the respective provider to clarify open questions and find solutions. We cannot provide any information on contracts of customers with third parties, as these have not been entered into with Messe Düsseldorf.
Will exhibitors receive the same stand space at the next event?
As every year, we will be happy to accommodate exhibitors' placement requests for 2021. However, we cannot confirm that exhibitors will receive the same space for their stand.
How can I present myself as an exhibitor at the virtual MEDICA and COMPAMED?
The 'virtual.MEDICA' and 'virtual.COMPAMED' consist of the three areas 'Conference Area' (conference and forum program), 'Exhibition Space' (exhibitors and product innovations) and 'Networking Plaza' (networking / matchmaking). Exhibitors can post product information and videos in the Exhibition Space. They can also offer web sessions in the Conference Area, where participants can interact with the speakers.
In the Networking Plaza, industry players can use the new matchmaking tool to find participants who are relevant to them, with whom they can get in touch and meet and exchange ideas in virtual rooms. Your individual contacts will be happy to support you in successfully participating in 'virtual.MEDICA' and 'virtual.COMPAMED'.
