OCHSA10

OmniVision's OCHSA10 is the latest member of its growing family of reflowable CameraCubeChip™ wafer-level camera modules for medical applications. This module offers an industry leading resolution of 800 x 800 with the highest frame rate of 60 fps, or 400 x 400 resolution at 90 fps, for blur-free images and video. Additionally, the OCHSA10 provides a compact size of 2.6 x 1.6 mm and excellent raw color imaging performance because it integrates an infrared (IR) cut filter, eliminating the chromatic effects from IR light that cause color fidelity loss. This precise color reproduction is crucial for accurately identifying abnormalities within the body.

The powerful OmniVision PureCel®Plus-S stacked pixel technology imbues the OCHSA10 with high sensitivity, high full-well capacity, zero blooming, low noise, stabilized black level and low power consumption. Benefits of this pixel architecture also include a buried color filter array for better angular response, a higher chief ray angle and deep trench isolation for reduced crosstalk. These features provide improved image quality over competing architectures.

OCHSA10 offers both 120 deg and 90 deg field of view options, in order to provide doctors, veterinarians and industrial applications with the best possible endoscopic images. To enable use within the body, the OCHSA10 is the only camera module in its class that offers ETO and STERRAD sterilization capabilities, along with waterproofing and biocompatibility. Additionally, it has low power consumption of 82.2 mW to reduce heat at the distal tip of the endoscope for enhanced patient comfort.

OH01A10

OmniVision's OH01A10 image sensor leverages PureCel®Plus-S stacked-die architecture to provide the high resolution, compact size and cost effectiveness required for the next generation of disposable and reusable endoscopes and catheters. The OH01A10 is the world's first medical image sensor to capture 1280 x 800 resolution at 60 frames per second (fps) in a compact 2.5 x 1.5 mm package.

These features make it ideal for many endoscopic devices, including those used in airway management (esophagoscopes, laryngoscopes, thorascopes, pleuroscopes, bronchoscopes, mediastinoscopes); gastrointestinal (gastroscopes, duodenoscopes, amnioscopes); and urology (utero-renoscope) applications.

Compared with previous-generation sensors, the OH01A10 consumes 25% lower power, which keeps the distal tip of the endoscope cooler for greater patient comfort. A high chief ray angle of 32 degrees enables a slimmer module and a wider field of view for flexible endoscopes with tight bend radius and close-focus requirements. Two OH01A10 image sensors can be synchronized to produce stereo, 3D images for surgical procedures.

The OH01A10 has a 1/11-inch optical format and a 1.12-micron pixel size. The sensor supports multiple resolution formats and frame rates with RAW output, including 720p HD at 60 fps in a 16:9 aspect ratio and 800 x 800 at 60 fps for a 1:1 square image for a crisp, jitter-free image. The sensor's PureCel®Plus-S stacked pixel architecture delivers the highest-quality images with improved sensitivity, high full-well capacity, no blooming and low color crosstalk.

Support for both MIPI and sub-LVDS output interfaces allows the OH01A10 to transmit image data over long distances. It also integrates one-time-programmable (OTP) memory to store manufacturing and calibration information.

The OH01A10 can be autoclaved for reusable devices and sterilized for disposable ones.

By using PureCel® pixel architecture, the OH02A10 offers the highest-quality imaging capabilities with improved sensitivity and quantum efficiency, high full-well capacity, low color crosstalk, and minimal blooming and noise. The OH02A10's broadband double anti-reflective coating reduces flare in the visible and near-infrared spectrums, which is typically caused by strong ancillary illumination during surgical operations.

The compact OH02A10 is capable of recording full 1080p HD video at 60 frames per second (fps) or 720p HD video at 90 fps to ensure clear scene reproduction with minimal motion artifacts. The sensor supports interlaced high dynamic range (HDR), which enables clear image capture with less saturation and excellent low light sensitivity in difficult high and low lighting situations. The OH02A10 is also stereo-ready with frame synchronization for 3D surgical applications.

OmniVision's OH02A10 consumes just 90 mW when recording 1080p HD video at 60 fps, which helps reduce heat generation at the distal tip of the endoscope to improve patient comfort and simplify design.

The OH02A10 is available in an 1/6-inch optical format and a compact 3.8 x 2.9 mm chip scale package (CSP). This sensor can be autoclaved and sterilized for reusable and single-use applications respectively.

OH02A1S

OmniVision’s OH02A1S is the world’s first RGB-IR medical image sensor, providing simultaneous white-light RGB captures and infrared monochrome captures in a single CMOS sensor for cancer diagnosis and treatment. While endoscopic precancer and cancer detection procedures are performed using IR light, surgeons also need RGB light to confirm any abnormalities detected using infrared. Previously, this could only be accomplished by integrating two independent imager sensors, which resulted in endoscopes with a larger size, higher cost and higher power consumption, thereby excessively heating the tip of the endoscope.

Built on OmniVision’s PureCel® pixel architecture, the OH02A1S offers 4x4 binning for the highest image quality, high quantum efficiency for excellent low-light performance, and a high dynamic range for clarity in scenes with widely contrasting bright and dark areas. The sensor can provide 1080p (1920x1080) resolution at 60 frames per second (fps) or 720p (1280x720) at 90 fps, via a 2-lane MIPI serial output. The OH02A1S also integrates 2 kilobits of one-time programmable memory on-chip. It consumes just 90 milliwatts at full power, generating less heat for greater patient comfort.

With the OH02A1S, both IR and RGB images can now be captured using a single chip, allowing the surgeon to switch between high quality RGB and IR in real time, or to display both images simultaneously on one (overlay) or two (side-by-side) monitors. Additionally, the smaller size and reduced heat allow the endoscope to reach much farther into the body than was previously possible with larger-outer-diameter, two-imager designs. Alternatively, designers can use the extra space to add more or larger illumination (fiber or LED), or a larger working channel for endoscopic tools.

The OH02A1S image sensor is available today in an RW package and the chip-scale package will be available based on project demand.

OV6922

The OV6922 is a 1/18-inch optical format CMOS image sensor incorporating a high level of functionality and very low power consumption in an ultra-small footprint package. This makes it ideal for use in small disposable cameras for medical imaging applications such as diagnostic and intubation systems.

The 2.1 mm x 2.3 mm CSP packaged sensor enables a microscopic camera module with a 4.0 mm diameter, to make medical procedures even less invasive for the patient.
