DIERS formetric 4D | 3D/4D Spine & Posture Analysis

The DIERS formetric is a light-optical scanning method based on Video-Raster-Stereography (VRS). Accordingly, the system consists of a light projector which projects a line grid on the back of the patient which is recorded by an imaging unit. A computer software analyzes the line curvature and generates from it – by means of the method of the Photogrammetrie – a three-dimensional model of the surface, comparable to a plaster cast. In opposition to x-ray, the DIERS formetric provides comprehensive information about the whole body statics and posture in only one measuring process, e.g. spine curvature (lateral and frontal), vertebral rotation, and pelvic position. Even muscular dysbalances can be detected based on the curvature image of the back surface.

DIERS pedoscan | Static and Dynamic Foot Pressure Measurement

The foot pressure recording and gait analysis system DIERS pedoscan allows the pressure distribution on the human foot to be captured and displayed quickly and precisely, while standing or while walking. Many clinical issues concerning the objective and quantitative analysis of pressure distribution, pressure peaks, and movement asymmetries as well as the rollover behavior are recorded to help diagnose foot malformations or functional limitations of the lower extremities. The precise, high-frequency measurement technology allows all users to record and document even rapid movements of the body’s centre of gravity and load changes. The direction of travel can be set in the software along one axis to allow for time-saving dynamic measurements in two directions. The high-frequency measurement of the body’s centre of gravity (min. 100 Hz) provides additional information about neurological issues and extends the range of application to (competitive) sports.

DIERS pedogait | Dynamic Foot Pressure Measurement and Gait Analysis

The DIERS pedogait system allows the functional representation of the foot pressure reaction forces while walking. The integrated measuring platform is 1.0 m long with 5.376 sensors for an exact capture of the pressure values. The admission frequency amounts to 100 Hz what corresponds to a tact frequency of 10 ms. Thereby false measurements and artefacts are avoided.
The standing treadmill can be used for static measurements of the foot pressure measurement as well as for the stabilometry.
The DIERS pedogait is prepared for the simultaneous measurement with the DIERS 4D motion® as well as with the module DIERS leg axis.

DIERS myoline professional | Isometric Muscle Strength Measurement

With up to 28 test directions the DIERS myoline is a compact solution for recording and documentation of all posture-relevant muscle strength parameters.
As a whole body measurement system, the DIERS myoline unites several conventional devices and offers the user considerable savings of time, because all measurements can be executed while the patient is sitting in the seat and a new positioning is not necessary.
The device was developed and tested in an university environment. Its solid construction guarantees reliable measurement results.

DIERS i-emg | 2in1 Sensor: Inertial + EMG

The compact 2in1-sensor allows a synchroneous measurement of muscle activity (EMG) and a three dimensional measurement of movement. The wireless data transmission gives a high range of flexibility in application. The integrated intertial sensors have a precise output in three dimensions of the movement and its related angles. By positioning of two sensors on adjacent body segments, the range of motion and the angular position of the intermediate joint can be determined. The system is designed to be expanded for the use of a single joint measurement up to a simultaneous whole-body measurement (with up to 16 sensors). The integrated surface EMG detects the muscle activity of up to 16 muscle groups at the same time with bipolar electrodes.

DIERS posture balance | Patient-individual Posture Correcting Insoles

The DIERS posture balance program is based on the principles of posture correction in accordance with Dr. Bourdiol. It uses the measurement data of the DIERS formetric system. The expert knowledge was verified in a research project with the University of Tuebingen (Institute of Sports Medicine). Taking the individual patient history into account, the DIERS posture balance program can be used to generate recommendations for posture correcting insoles (also under the term of sensory motor or proprioceptive insoles).

DIERS foot balance | Patient-individual Foot Correcting Insoles

The development of the DIERS foot balance software means that there is now a new program which can be used to generate recommendations for the production of high quality inlays to correct feet and gait. This is based on the high frequency measurement data of the DIERS pedoscan measurement method. The University of Tuebingen (Institute of Sports Medicine) accompanied the project as part of a research project. The new vector analysis procedure means that strength and acceleration vectors are recorded directly on the sole of the foot. Using the additional measurement data can improve the efficacy of the insoles and insole technology.
