The World's First Successful Microwave Mammography

Succeeded in detecting breast cancer by microwave mammography with high density breasts which was difficult by current X-ray mammography and/or ultrasound mammography.
Microwave mammography will reduce the examinees’ stress, helps early detection, and creates economic effects (cost reduction).

For the first time in the world, we succeeded in solving the inverse problem of wave scattering and developed a prototype of microwave scattering field tomographic imaging system using the differences of microwave reflection of normal and cancer tissues.

Approximately 400 clinical trials have been conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of this technology over current technology with high density breasts.

Patents Granted;
-Japan, USA, China, Europe (Germany, France, Romania, UK, Belgium, Bulgaria,
Czech Republic, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey).

Awards;
-1st Japan Medical Research and Development Award
-AMED President'sAward.

Expected effects;
-Improvement in screening rate (current 40% , target 90%) by less physical stress of examinees.
-Medical cost reduction of ¥79.4B ($800M) by early detection and treatment.
According to Kimura`s estimate, early detection will save ¥16.2B($170M)
(¥17.7→¥1.5B) per year by partial removal surgery (not total removal).
In addition, reduction of medicine costs during cancer treatments will decrease ¥ 63.2B
($680M) per year. In total, there will be ¥79.4B ($850M) cost reduction.

About us

Company details

We have succeeded in deriving an analytical solution for the Inverse Problem, which was one of the unsolved problems in the history of applied mathematics.
The Image Analysis Software using this theory enables instant and unique visualization of the internal structure of a target object in three dimensions based on data measurement without destructing the target.
We have and will apply this Non-Destructive Image Diagnostic Technology to various fields.

The Inverse scattering problem is to reconstruct and visualize inner structures of objects by measuring scattered waves under the illumination of waves.
It was one of the unsolved problems in applied-mathematics, however, Prof. Kimura successfully solved the problem for the first time in the world.
This theory can be applied to various types of waves, such as electromagnetic waves, ultrasonic waves, and electronic waves, etc.
The structure of the scattering field is measured by an“equation of scattering field in multidimensional space” with boundary condition at scattered waves observed at the surface of the object.
This three-dimensional structure is uniquely identified by limiting time and space boundaries.
With this theory, we can visualize “invisible”structures of precise and/or dangerous objects instantly without destruction.
How would this theory, the new way of visualization,change the way wee see the world?
We have invented a new way of capturing objects.
We originally recognize the structure of an object by irradiating beams of light or particle through lenses. In other words, we focus the object by narrowing beams.
In our study, we do the opposite. We do not narrow but scatter waves infinitely, and then observe and reconstruct the structure mathematically.
In this way, we can even focus structures which lenses cannot, by mathematically reconstructing all points, as if the lenses are focused.
