Injeq was founded by a team of clinicians and technology experts who identified a solution for a well-known medical need – to make blind spinal punctures more precise and safer. Thanks to their interdisciplinary backgrounds in the fields of medicine and technology, they knew that various tissues and anatomical structures conduct electricity at different frequencies in a slightly different way. This electrical conductivity is analyzed with Injeq IQ-Tip® analyzer. When the Injeq IQ-Tip® spinal needle reaches the spinal canal, the Injeq IQ-Tip® system identifies the spinal fluid. The analyzer attached to the needle then alerts the physician with an audio signal and the analyzer display indicates high conductivity.
Today Injeq is proceeding with CE certification and registration through Notified Body TÜV SÜD, aiming for European market entry in accordance with the MDR in the first quarter of 2021.
