Reflex-loading device «GRAVITON»®

Reflex-loading device "Graviton»®, developed by rehabilitation center "Ogonek" is a system of elastic straps counter-fixed in the front and on the rear parts of the body. The straps arranged along the body provide strictly dosed compressive loading acting on muscle antagonists of the body and those of the lower extremities. Besides, the rotation of elastic straps correct the position of the patient’s body locomotive segments. This causes a powerful respond formed in the muscle receptors, joints and ligaments, which streams to the central nervous system and forms the tracing movement of patterns there. Patient’s active movements confirm that the correct posture and physiologic forms of the movement are fixed at the central nervous system level. Brain functional structure activity afferent correction provided by Graviton® brings essential improvements into brain functions in terms of motility, speech, emotion and cognition (mental power, memory).
Graviton® medical suit is assembled by components, which are manufactured in series and individually selected for each patient in order to correct their individual pathologic posture.

Sling-Therapy System

Sling-Therapy System is designed to teach patients with movement disorders due to diseases and injuries of the Central nervous system, including children without self-walking skills.

Abduction orthosis

Orthosis is designed for the position of femoral head correction in the acetabulum while maintaining the possibility of active movements in the hip joint within the required limits. It is used to rehabilitate children aged 1–15 to 15–16 suffering from spastic or paralytic subluxation of the hip or have a pathological hip adduction position, i.e. high risk of subluxation.
The orthosis allows the child to sit, stand and walk without damaging the femoral head in the acetabulum. In this regard, the use of the device can be an alternative to plastering. Prolonged use of the device (more than one year) helps to reduce the spasticity of the adductors of thigh and the imbalance of the muscles forces in the hip joint.
The orthosis has to be worn constantly while awake.  It is necessary to correct its settings, usually once in 4 months. It is made individually for patient from series produced parts.

Orthosis for low extremities and body with thigh abduction function

One of the most significant achievements of SMC Ogoniok in recent years is the development of Orthosis for low extremities and body with thigh abduction function that rotate and correct the hip joint, lower limbs, lower limbs and trunk. The devices are designed for rehabilitation of children suffering from cerebral palsy and spinal dysraphism. And for the spina bifida patients – that is the only way that makes it possible to get up from a wheelchair and master the skills of independent walking.
The orthosis is intended for the treatment of children aged from the first months of life to 14-15 years, suffering from spastic or paralytic hip subluxation or having an adductor hip installation due to a pathology of muscle tone. There are about 40-50% of children with cerebral palsy and, practically, all children with myelodysplasia.
The most important option of all modifications of the orthosis is an adjustable correction of the patient's hip head position in the acetabulum, which preserves the possibility of active movements in the hip joint in three planes within the specified volumes. In this regard, the use of such orthosis in most cases can be an alternative to the method of staged plaster cast fixation.
In this case, the removal of the right or left hip is carried out in isolation, almost without mutual influence, which distinguishes the orthosis from the abduction aplints.
What is more important: when the child performs step movements and static poses (standing and sitting), a different degree of hip abduction is achieved. So, in the sitting position, the hip abduction is maximum. When performing step movements and in the standing position, the degree of hip abduction is optimal for correcting the position of the hip head and does not prevent the preservation of the vertical pose. Thus, gradual orthopedic correction is performed in children with cerebral palsy and spinal dysraphism. This allows them to move freely enough, go to school, communicate with their peer at the early start of rehabilitation activities by the age of 6-7.
And the second, no less important function of these orthosis is possibility to apply the most effective load methods of kinesitherapy for the treatment of these children, since the orthosis neutralize the negative impact of axial load on the condition of the hip joints in these patients.
There are no analogues of these orthoses in the world.

Scientific and Manufacturing Center (SMC) Ogoniok was awarded a special prize of the Council of the Russian Federation within the framework at the Russian innovation forum 2020.

SMC Ogoniok, one of the leading Russian enterprises in rehabilitation industry, was awarded a special prize of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly at the Russian innovation forum held in 2020. The prize was awarded for a Mobile Sling System, one of the latest inventions developed by SMC Ogoniok. The innovative system is intended for verticalization of patients with motoric disorders during their training of walking abilities.
In February 2020, the Russian innovation forum hosted an award ceremony for the winners of the all-Russian competition Best social project of 2019. The annual competition is aimed at identifying the best social projects focused on improving the living conditions of citizens, providing employment, support to the disabled, the elderly, and people in difficult situations.
The Mobile Sling System is designed for patients who are not able to move independently, those with severe disorders of the nervous and skeletal systems. They are, first of all, children with disabilities caused by cerebral palsy, spinal dysraphism (spina bifida), and inflammatory diseases of the central nervous system. The Mobile Sling System is intended not only for children, but also for adults with disabilities due to stroke, craniocerebral and spinal injuries.
The System is a lightweight без запятой mobile structure on four wheels into which the user is placed and vertically positioned. A special mechanism is used to provide the required weight relief allowing the patient to make stepping motions independently, leaning on the handle and thus moving inside and outside the room.
A unique feature of the System is that the user, even with a very severe motor deficit, can become mobile, move independently without the risk of falling or getting injured. Verticalization and motion are the main factors for restoring body functions for people who are confined to wheelchairs. This technology significantly improves the quality of life and extends the patients’ lifespan. It is also a very effective training for children aimed at developing active motion and improving biomechanical parameters of walking.

3. Company history
Scientific and Manufacturing Center "Ogoniok" was established in 1987 as an enterprise for the development and manufacture of orthopedic products. Currently, the range of orthopedic products produced by "Ogoniok" includes more than 100 species. Among them are bandages, splints, corsets, posture correctors, insoles, complex orthopedic systems and devices. Most of them are made of special material - TRIKOR ® rubber-fabric plate, also developed by the company's specialists.
