MPG launches Virucidal treatment of nonwovens for the production of self-disinfecting face masks and PPE
The MPG plasma coating technology creates a super-low energy gas plasma flow.
This allows the injection of antimicrobials, and to instantly graft these molecules onto the surface, activated by the plasma flow.
This technology is highly effective with minimal consumption because active ingredients remain pure and where they are needed: on the surface.
The Virucidal/Self-Disinfecting functionality inactivates 99.9% of viruses on polypropylene nonwoven fabrics of facemasks.
The coating machines from the Luxembourg-based company can be decentralized and installed where masks are made.
Also, the new technology is competitive in terms of cost; and it is more suitable for single-use face mask materials than traditional metal-ion or nanoparticle-based antimicrobial coatings or additives.
We are ready to provide machinery, process technology, and virucidal formulations to the protective equipment manufacturers interested to include this technology to their products in order to increase the safety of wearers.
Commercial agreements with technical assistance are sought.
